About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and professional Van Driver to support our freight‑forwarding operations based from our Antrim warehouse. You will be responsible for the safe, timely collection and delivery of goods throughout Ireland, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with all transport and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, transport, and deliver goods to customers, depots, and partner facilities.
- Load and unload goods safely, using appropriate manual‑handling techniques and equipment.
- Complete delivery paperwork, manifests, and electronic records accurately.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects in line with company procedures.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and compliant with legal requirements.
- Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and warehouse staff.
- Follow all company policies, including health & safety, security, and data protection.
- Assist with basic warehouse duties when required (e.g., sorting goods, scanning items).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift and move items up to 30kg, using provided equipment where appropriate.
- Heavier items will be handled using team lifting or mechanical aids, in line with Manual Handling Regulations.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and handle parcels throughout the working day.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (Category B).
- Good knowledge of local and regional road networks.
- Ability to follow delivery schedules and work independently.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or multi‑drop delivery.
- Experience using handheld scanners or delivery apps.
- Knowledge of manual‑handling best practices.
