Greenlight Training are currently recruiting Roofing Apprentices on behalf of multiple employers based in the Plymouth area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in the roofing trade with real on-site experience and structured training provided by industry experts.Location:
- Workplace: With employers in and around Plymouth
- Training: Delivered at our Plympton, Plymouth training centre
(Attendance is required for 2 days every 2 weeks – employer transport support may be available.)
Job Description
As a Roofing Apprentice, you will learn how to install, repair, and maintain roofs using various materials and techniques. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and want to learn a highly skilled trade.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation and repair of different types of roofs (e.g. pitched, flat, tiled, or slate)
- Safely work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and harness systems
- Remove old roofing materials and prepare surfaces for new installations
- Cut and fit roofing materials accurately
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Keep the site clean and support tradespeople with day-to-day tasks
Skills Required:
- Confidence working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good physical fitness and manual dexterity
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions closely
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Basic understanding of tools and construction methods (training will be provided)

- Complete a 2-week work trial with the employer.
