We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting our culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and wish to gain experience in a professional kitchen setting.
Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Help with the delivery and storage of supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained.
- Support chefs during service by providing assistance as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of hygiene at all times.
- Assist in the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with environmental policies.
What we're looking for
- Own transport — essential (no public transport to site)
- Comfortable sustaining high-volume hand wash-up across a full shift
- Previous kitchen or wash-up experience required
- Able to keep pace in a busy hotel kitchen and work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the booked shifts
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, such as in restaurants or hotels, is required
- A keen interest in culinary arts and a desire to learn more about food preparation processes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy hospitality setting.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others within the kitchen team.
