- Planning and marking
I work on behalf of an excellent secondary school based in the buserling town of Trowbridge that is looking for a teacher to join the English department and lead classes across all key stages. The role will involve planning & marking your own lesson, working proactively with other members of the department, teaching all key stages and preparing your students for GCSE.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a supportive team. The position is a full time role that is perfect for any ETC who is looking to complete their qualifications and develop their experience and pedagogy or an experienced, seasoned teacher. For the right candidate the school will accept a subject specialist who has UK secondary school experience and knows the curriculum intimately.
A successful candidate is positive and confident, has excellent curriculum knowledge, adores their subject and feels passion about sharing their knowledge and teaching children. You will be collaborating with other members of the English department and support staff. You need to be able to communicate clearly and consistently planned lessons that have a strong scaffolded plan and are differentiated.
The School
Situated in the heart of Trowbridge, right by the train station, it has an amazing school provides a first class experience for every child in a safe, happy, caring and purposeful environment. Their ethos is characterized by high expectations and the belief that every child can be successful in both a personal and academic sense. The students show mutual respect to each other and the adults within our school and are encouraged to become successful 21st Century learners.
The schools ethos and values:
- Create a happy, stimulating, caring learning environment where risk taking and challenge is encouraged
- Awaken and nurture a love of learning that will last a lifetime and provide everyone with the skills to pursue that learning independently and collaboratively
- Enable everyone to reach the highest standard of which they are capable, academically and in other fields such as sport, arts and culture
- Help learners to understand and care about the world in which they live, and to believe in their ability and responsibility to change that world to make it better
- Empower learners to develop a strong sense of right and wrong, good and bad, equality and justice. Give them the inner strength to act according to these values
