Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership and daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering their development. The Deputy Nursery Manager will assist the Nursery Manager in ensuring high standards of care, safety, and educational quality are maintained at all times.
Duties
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily nursery operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and well-being of children.
- Supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and leadership to foster a positive team environment.
- Engage with children to support their emotional, social, and educational needs through interactive play and learning experiences.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed within the nursery environment.
- Assist in managing administrative tasks such as record keeping, staff rotas, and resource management.
- Support staff training programmes to ensure continuous professional development within the team.
- Contribute to maintaining a welcoming, safe, and stimulating environment for children and staff alike.
Requirements
- Proven experience in nursery or early childhood education settings, with a strong understanding of childcare practices.
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience within a childcare or educational environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their developmental needs.
- Knowledge of current early childhood education frameworks and safeguarding procedures.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and organisational skills.
