Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV (Class 1) driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations. The position requires a valid HGV (Class 1) licence to operate specialised equipment and flatbed vehicles as needed. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV (Class 1) vehicles, including flatbeds
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations
- Deliver goods to specified locations in a timely manner, maintaining accurate delivery documentation
- Adhere to all road traffic laws, company policies, and health & safety procedures during operations
- Maintain communication with the dispatch team regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen issues during transit
- Assist in organising deliveries efficiently to optimise routes and reduce transit times
Requirements
- Valid HGV (Class 1) licence
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly within flatbed or similar vehicle operations
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of logistics procedures
- Knowledge of safe loading/unloading techniques and vehicle maintenance standards
- Excellent driving record with no serious infringements or convictions
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
