Job Title: Thorough Examination (TE) Engineer
Location: Field-based (paid door-to-door, travel based on business requirements)
Surrey/Kent/Maidstone.

Role Purpose
To carry out Thorough Examinations on materials handling and a wider range of lifting equipment across customer sites, ensuring inspections are completed in line with UKMHA GN28 guidance and company standards. The role is focused on delivering safe, accurate, and compliant inspections while maintaining clear communication with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Thorough Examinations at customer sites
- Complete inspections in line with UKMHA GN28 guidance and company procedures
- Accurately identify, assess, and categorise defects, including safety-critical items
- Make clear determinations regarding the continued use of equipment, including identifying items that are not fit for service
- Produce clear, accurate, and compliant Thorough Examination reports within required timeframes
- Maintain consistency and quality in defect classification and reporting standards
- Adhere to all company and site-specific Health & Safety requirements
- Work collaboratively with the planning and support teams to ensure efficient service delivery
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Work flexibly across varying geographic areas in line with business and customer demands, including travel and overnight stays where required
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience carrying out Thorough Examinations on materials handling and a wider range of lifting equipment
- Strong working knowledge of UKMHA GN28 guidance
- Ability to identify and categorise defects in line with Thorough Examination standards
- Experience producing clear, accurate, and compliant inspection reports
- Good IT skills for completing digital reports and documentation
- Strong communication skills, particularly in customer-facing environments
- Full UK driving licence

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
