We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated dementia and mental health care team. You'll provide hands-on, person-centred support to residents, helping them live with dignity, comfort, and as much independence as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, mobility support) with sensitivity and respect
- Support residents living with dementia and mental health conditions using person-centred approaches
- Recognise and respond calmly to behaviours that challenge, including agitation, anxiety, or distress
- Assist with mealtimes, nutrition, and hydration needs
- Support residents with daily activities and meaningful engagement
- Accurately record care notes and report any changes in wellbeing to senior staff
- Work closely with nurses, families, and visiting healthcare professionals
- Promote a calm, reassuring, and safe environment at all times
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with people living with dementia and/or mental health conditions (essential)
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to use non-verbal and de-escalation techniques
- Understanding of person-centred care and the Mental Capacity Act
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting residents' dignity and wellbeing
- Flexibility to work shifts, including some weekends

Pay: £12.82 per hour
