Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Baby Room Leader & Third in Charge to join our childcare team. This vital role involves leading the baby room with compassion, professionalism, and organisational skills, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. The successful candidate will support the overall management of the nursery, assist in maintaining high standards of care, and contribute to creating an enriching experience for both children and staff. Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the baby room, ensuring a warm, safe, and engaging environment for infants.
- Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote development and learning.
- Assist in supervising and mentoring junior staff members to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery procedures at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, needs, and daily updates.
- Contribute to planning and organising activities that stimulate physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Support the nursery management team as Third in Charge during shifts or absences of senior staff members.
- Maintain accurate records related to children's development, attendance, and incident reports.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required to support nursery operations.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare setting, preferably within a nursery environment specialising in early years care.
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience within a childcare or educational context.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in infant care.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with parents, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Experience in managing or supervising staff members is desirable but not essential.
- Minimum L3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
