Wayman Education is seeking an inspiring and academically driven Geography Teacher to join an exceptional humanities faculty at an 'Outstanding' Ofsted-rated secondary school and sixth form in the beautiful borough of Richmond. This full-time, permanent position is scheduled to start in September 2026 and is open to both experienced practitioners looking for a fresh challenge and ambitious Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging geography lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 / A-Level for a suitably qualified candidate).
- Organize, coordinate, and lead local and regional fieldwork opportunities, utilizing the unique local geography to enhance students' practical data collection and analysis skills.
- Assess, track, and report on the academic progress and attainment of pupils in line with GCSE exam board specifications and school marking policies.
- Implement effective adaptive teaching strategies and differentiation to stretch high-attaining pupils and provide robust support for students with diverse learning needs or SEND.
- Contribute actively to the wider humanities department, participating in collaborative planning sessions, resource development, open evenings, and extracurricular initiatives.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: A proven track record of teaching geography within a UK secondary school setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
- Skills: Exceptional subject knowledge up to GCSE level minimum, confident classroom management techniques, and a passion for making global, environmental, and socio-economic issues accessible to all learners.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
