Seasonal Weed Control Operative
Hours: 9 month fixed-term contract (March to November) 45 hours per week (07:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday)
Salary: £25,000 (can be pro-rated over 12 months)
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Seasonal Weed Control Operative to support our client contracts across the South of the UK. This role involves controlling unwanted weed growth across a variety of sites including highways, parks, industrial estates, and schools.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality work that meets company standards and client expectations, while always operating safely and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain spraying equipment
- Carry out weed control treatments in line with client specifications
- Ensure accurate and thorough coverage of designated areas
- Follow company policies, safe systems of work, and PPE requirements at all times
- Complete daily work records accurately
- Maintain clear communication between site teams and the office
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and management
About You
We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards of work. You should be comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Essential:
- PA1 / PA6A / PA2 certification
- Ability to interpret written instructions and pesticide product labels
- Experience in, or a strong interest in, the grounds maintenance industry
- Good communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Grounds maintenance or weed control experience
- Experience working with industrial or local authority clients
- First Aid Certificate
