Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Power Systems Field Engineer to join our expanding night operations team.
The Role
As a Power Systems Field Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and supporting Quest Power's fleet of mobile power assets, including generators, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and associated equipment.
Working across customer sites throughout the UK, you will play a key role in ensuring critical healthcare operations receive a safe, reliable, and uninterrupted power supply during overnight operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair generators, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and auxiliary power equipment
- Diagnose and resolve faults to minimise equipment downtime
- Support the operation of integrated hybrid power systems, including generators and battery storage solutions
- Carry out routine inspections and performance checks on power equipment
- Liaise with third-party contractors to coordinate servicing, repairs, and equipment deliveries
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and safe working procedures
- Support wider operational activities in line with business requirements
- Participate in a reactive call-out rota to respond to breakdowns and emergency situations
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2, Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle, Plant Maintenance, Electrotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience working on generators, ideally within the 50kVA – 350kVA range
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Good understanding of electrical safety and safe isolation procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to work nights, travel nationwide, and participate in an on-call rota
Desirable:
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Knowledge of hybrid power systems
- Experience using remote monitoring systems
- Electrical testing experience
- Power quality analysis knowledge
- Energy management experience
- Solar PV experience
