Role Purpose
To support the efficient operation of the warehouse by safely operating forklifts, reach trucks, and bendi trucks for the movement, loading, unloading, and storage of goods. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to health & safety regulations at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, and bendi/flexi trucks in accordance with training and company policies.
- Load and unload vehicles, containers, and pallets, ensuring goods are handled with care.
- Move stock to and from racking locations, staging areas, and production lines.
- Perform stock put-away and retrieval according to warehouse layout and WMS instructions.
- Carry out regular pre-use equipment checks and report defects immediately.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and palletising when required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work environment.
- Follow all company Health & Safety and Manual Handling procedures.
- Support with periodic stock counts and inventory checks.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse colleagues to meet operational deadlines.
Skills & Requirements
- Valid Forklift, Reach Truck, and Bendi/Flexi Truck licences (RTITB/ITSSAR accredited preferred).
- Proven experience operating each truck type in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and stock control systems.
- Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks when required.
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or 3PL environment.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
