About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Moves & Fabric Operative to join our Technical Services team at Shell Centre, Waterloo.
This role is responsible for delivering porterage, office moves, fabric maintenance, and handyman services across the London Campus. You will play a key role in ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and presented to a high standard while delivering exceptional customer service and meeting agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
The successful candidate will be capable of managing multiple priorities, taking ownership of tasks, and working collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and contractors in a fast-paced corporate environment.
What you’ll do:

Carry out general porterage duties across the campus.

Complete office moves in line with plans provided by Move Managers, Design & Build Coordinators, or Project Managers.

Set up and dismantle meeting rooms and event spaces.

Undertake furniture installations and decommissioning activities

Carry out general handyman and fabric maintenance tasks including, decorating and painting, wall and surface repairs, flooring and carpeting repairs, ceiling tile replacement & minor building fabric repairs

Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities as assigned.

Perform furniture repairs including cabinets, locks, desks, chairs, and associated fittings.

Host and supervise third-party contractors on site.

Use EZMax (tablet-based system) to raise, update, and complete work orders.

Record labour, RAMS, asset information, and job notes accurately.

Communicate effectively with customers and internal departments regarding ongoing works and service requests.

Adhere to all company policies, site procedures, and statutory regulations relating to: Health & Safety, Fire Safety, COSHH, Safe Systems of Work & Environmental Compliance

Demonstrate flexibility to work outside normal hours and weekends when operationally necessary.

Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by management.
What you’ll bring:

Previous experience in a porterage, handyman, facilities, or building maintenance role.

Strong experience within an FM environment
-
Strong customer service skills and a service-focused approach.

Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise tasks effectively.

Experience working within a corporate office or facilities management environment.

Good understanding of a range of fabric maintenance and handyman activities.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.

Understanding of Risk Assessments and safe working practices.

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office applications.

Manual Handling training.
-
Fire Door Inspection training.

Experience using EZMax or Maximo CAFM systems.
