Job Overview
Founded in 1996 as a supplier of sub-contract manufacturing to a wide customer base across the UK. We are seeking a skilled CNC Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, and maintaining CNC machinery utilised in various production processes. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge and experience with CNC Milling and or CNC Turing, ensuring efficient operation and optimisation of CNC systems. This position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their expertise within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Develop and optimise CNC programmes.
- Operate CNC machines, including milling and/or turning, and other precision equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC machinery to minimise downtime.
- Ensure the machine tooling has the correct selection, setup, and adjustments to achieve desired tolerances and surface finishes.
- Conduct quality inspections of machined components, ensuring compliance with technical drawings and standards.
- Collaborate with the workshop team on product manufacturing and tooling requirements.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools for assembly, modifications, or repairs as necessary.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations related to machining processes.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC machining or engineering roles specialising in milling or turning processes.
- Proficient in the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM programming for CNC machines is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and general workshop safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of basic maths principles relevant to machining tasks.
- Experience working with tooling setups, fixtures and machine calibration is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
