Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and professional HGV Driver to join our event logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of event equipment and materials to venues across the UK. This role requires flexibility, as shifts may include mornings, days, evenings, nights, and weekends depending on event schedules.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the events, exhibition, live production, or entertainment industry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where schedules can change at short notice.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV vehicles in accordance with all legal, company, and health and safety requirements.
- Transport event equipment, staging, production materials, and related assets to and from venues.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely arrivals and deliveries.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Complete all required transport documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain clear communication with transport coordinators, event managers, and venue contacts.
- Assist with loading and unloading when required, ensuring equipment is handled safely and professionally.
- Represent the company professionally when working on client sites and event venues.
- Adhere to drivers' hours regulations, road transport legislation, and company policies at all times.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience driving within the events, exhibition, production, or entertainment industry is highly desirable.
- Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, days, nights, weekends, and occasional overnight stays.
- Strong understanding of drivers' hours and transport compliance requirements.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Professional attitude with strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Clean driving licence preferred.
