Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in a school in Barrow-in-Furness.
Overtime will be expected in school holidays. Additional overtime in other premises is available.
A basic DBS check is a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise designated areas, including floors, surfaces, restrooms, and communal spaces
- Use cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently and safely
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standards of hygiene and presentation
- Report any maintenance issues or damages discovered during cleaning duties
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain cleaning schedules and record completed tasks accurately
- Assist with additional duties as required to support the overall cleanliness of the premises
Requirements
- Previous experience in cleaning or related roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Reliable, punctual, and able to demonstrate a strong work ethic
