We are seeking a Wood Machinist to join furniture manufacturer in Nelson. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various woodworking machinery to produce high-quality timber components.
Duties:
- Operating saws, planers, and other machinery to cut, shape, and process timber.
- Loading, unloading, and stacking timber safely, including use of lifting aids where required.
- Checking timber for defects and ensuring all products meet quality standards and measurements.
- Carrying out routine cleaning and minor maintenance of tools and machines.
- Preparing raw materials for production and assisting in meeting daily output targets.
- Following all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe handling of materials.
Working hours:
6pm - 6am Monday - Wednesday (30 minutes lunch break)
6pm - 10.30pm Thursday
