The Role
As the Deputy Manager, you will be the right hand to the Registered Manager, ensuring our therapeutic home in Middleton provides a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment for young people. This is a "dual-impact" role: you will lead by example on the floor during shifts, while also taking a lead on compliance, staff development, and Ofsted readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage the daily running of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Therapeutic Care: Implement the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) model to support children with complex emotional and behavioral needs.
- Compliance & Quality: Conduct regular audits of care plans and risk assessments to ensure the home meets Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Team Development: Provide formal 1-to-1 supervisions and mentorship to Team Leaders and Support Workers to maintain a high standard of practice.
- Logistics: Manage staff rotas, coordinate with social workers, and oversee the administration of medication and health records.
Requirements (Essential)
- Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 is highly desirable or a willingness to work toward it).
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a Children’s Residential setting, with proven experience in a senior or leadership capacity.
- Transport: A full UK Driving License and access to your own vehicle with business insurance (essential for school runs and appointments).
- Knowledge: A deep understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Safeguarding procedures.

Pay: £26,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
