About the role
We're a small housing organisation looking for an experienced income/arrears specialist to join us for an initial four weeks to clear a backlog of arrears work. For the right person, there may be an ongoing role after the contract, though this would be part-time given the size of our organisation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision and make a real dent in the workload quickly.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and reducing arrears across our portfolio
- Setting up direct debits and supporting residents with payment arrangements
- Liaising with residents, colleagues, our outsourced finance team, and Housing Benefit / DWP
- Working independently to prioritise key tasks
What we're looking for
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in income collection and arrears recovery
- Confident IT skills and the ability to pick up a new system quickly
- An excellent communicator, comfortable dealing with residents and external bodies
- Able to work with minimal supervision — supervisory or team-leader experience would be an advantage
Please note: This role requires proven, hands-on arrears experience. We will only be able to consider applicants who meet the criteria above, so please do not apply if you do not have the relevant background.
