We have an excellent career opportunity for the role of Care Assistant to join our team here at Kirklands Care based at our wonderful St George's Care Home in Millom, Cumbria.

St George’s Care Home provides residential care for up to 36 people (male and female) of mixed physical and cognitive ability, we feel age should be no barrier to quality of life, and we are looking for dedicated, caring team members who strive to make every day as fulfilling as possible for residents, whether that’s through quiet company or social activities with other residents whilst focusing on encouraging residents to remain as independent as they can, focusing on both their physical and emotional needs.

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on care.
- Support mobility and personal hygiene, promoting independence where possible.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Our ideal candidates
- Level 2 in Health and social care preferred but not essential, but must be willing to work towards
- Willingness to learn and develop your skills
- Dedicated to providing our residents with a high standard of care and support is essential
- Good interpersonal skills and a caring nature
- A desire to genuinely help other people and make a difference
- Good communication and listening skills are essential
- Good work ethic
- Be able to work on your own but also as part of a team
- Be able to work effectively with colleagues and Line Managers
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
- Willingness to support home in covering extra shifts when needed
