Lead Mountain Bike Coach – Muddy MTB

Muddy MTB is looking for an enthusiastic Lead Coach to deliver fun, adventurous mountain bike coaching sessions for children aged 6–13 on weekends in and around Amersham.
You’ll lead engaging sessions focused on confidence, skills, progression and enjoyment, supported by an Assistant Coach. Sessions range from beginner riders through to more experienced young mountain bikers, with an emphasis on creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment where kids can develop both technically and personally.
This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, can bring energy and structure to sessions, and wants to inspire the next generation of riders.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekend mountain bike coaching sessions for groups of children aged 6–13
- Plan and deliver engaging activities, games and skills-based coaching
- Provide clear demonstrations, encouragement and constructive feedback
- Support rider progression across core MTB skills including balance, braking, cornering, stability and trail awareness
- Work closely with the Assistant Coach to ensure sessions run safely and smoothly
- Carry out basic safety checks and maintain high safeguarding standards
- Help create a positive, welcoming and confidence-building environment for all riders
- Support parents and riders with queries before and after sessions
Requirements
- MIAS or British Cycling Level 2 qualification (essential)
- Strong mountain biking ability and confidence riding off-road terrain
- Friendly, reliable and professional approach
- Passion for inspiring young riders and making sessions fun
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Outdoor first aid qualification desirable but not essential

Pay: £20.54-£25.00 per hour
