Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team. This role involves supporting children and young people through mental health challenges, promoting emotional resilience, and fostering a positive environment for growth. The successful candidate will work closely with educational staff, families, and community organisations to deliver tailored interventions that enhance mental wellbeing. Duties
- Provide one-to-one sessions focused on mental health, emotional regulation, and wellbeing strategies.
- Develop personalised care plans in collaboration with children, families, and relevant professionals.
- Deliver programmes centred on teaching coping skills, resilience, and social-emotional development.
- Mentor and guide children with diverse needs, including those in special education settings.
- Work with educators to implement mental health initiatives within our schools and community settings.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress notes in compliance with organisational policies.
- Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in youth mental health and wellbeing.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or young people in educational, community, or healthcare environments is desirable.
- Skills in teaching, mentoring, or youth work are highly valued.
- Experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or behavioural challenges is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of mental health issues affecting young people and appropriate intervention techniques.
- A compassionate approach combined with organisational skills to manage caseloads efficiently.
