Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Relief Chef to work Monday-Thursday. You will be based between two venues. One near Kinross and the other in Elie, Fife. You will cover the chef’s two day off at both venues. Driving essential. This is very good number with hardly any weekends expected except when covering holidays/sickness.
Live in accommodation provided.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality food preparation and service across various settings, ensuring that all standards of food safety and presentation are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced chefs to utilise their skills in a flexible, fast-paced environment, supporting our catering and restaurant operations.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with menu specifications and customer requirements
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to during handling, storage, and preparation processes
- Support catering events by preparing dishes in line with event specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Serve food efficiently and courteously to guests or clients
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
- Adapt quickly to different kitchen environments and operational needs as required
Experience
- Proven experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is essential
- Strong background in meal and food preparation, with a focus on quality and presentation
- Previous kitchen experience demonstrating knowledge of food safety protocols is highly desirable
- Familiarity with culinary techniques across various cuisines is advantageous
- Experience in serving guests or customers in a hospitality setting is preferred
