1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 3/4

A primary school in Ulverston is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a mixed Year 3 and Year 4 class. This is a part-time, ongoing role working Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with an immediate start available.
This rewarding position would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil within a mixed Year 3/4 classroom
- Support learning across the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Assist with implementing individual learning strategies and interventions
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence
- Support the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a 1:1 support role
- Experience supporting children within a primary school setting
- Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualifications are desirable
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS certificate (Update Service or willingness to apply)
- Full and up-to-date CV
- Ability to provide details of two professional references, including your most recent employer
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
