Qualifications/Experience:
- Preferred: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Profound knowledge of educational strategies tailored for special educational needs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and Motivate: Deliver personalised tutoring that focuses on student engagement and motivation, adapting to the interests and strengths of each student through creative and dynamic teaching methods.
- Monitor Progress: Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and other educators.
- Collaborate: Work closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to foster a comprehensive educational experience for each student.
- Safe and Flexible Learning Environments: Maintain a supportive and safe learning environment, conduct sessions in diverse settings such as schools, homes, or public venues, and cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Support SEN Students: Specialise in re-engaging students who are disengaged from traditional educational settings.
Working Conditions:
- Agency Worker: You will be paid per hour of tutoring, with the flexibility to discuss and agree on hours and assignments in advance. Traveling for assignments may include compensation for additional expenses.
- In-Person Sessions: Tutoring is primarily face-to-face on a 1:1 basis.
- Session Timing and Locations: Align with school terms, typically between 08:30 to 16:30, at schools, homes, or agreed public venues.
Students: Our pupils range from 11-16 years old, including those in care, those with special educational needs, or those requiring extra support.
Resources: You will have access to a variety of teaching resources, including internal tools, educational platforms like Twinkl and BKSB, and support for online delivery through platforms like MS Teams or Bramble.
Reporting: Weekly timesheet and detailed reports are required, with key documents shared via a dedicated Chalkline email.
