Highgrade Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in South Wales from September 2026 on a long-term supply basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach Design Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and A Level, with a particular focus on Construction and Engineering. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop practical skills, creative thinking and technical knowledge, preparing them for further education and future careers.
The Role
- Deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across KS3, KS4 and A Level.
- Teach a mixture of Design Technology, Construction and Engineering-based content.
- Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students in developing practical, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and wider school staff.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level.
- Knowledge or experience of Construction and/or Engineering subjects.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- A passion for practical learning and helping young people succeed.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional references covering the last two years.
