We have a great opportunity for to join the Bernard Matthews Sunderland Family and be part of a well-established Hygiene Team, to maintain the hygiene requirements of the factory areas to an audit ready standard where there is minimal risk to food safety, legality, quality and authenticity. Ensure that hygiene operatives in nominated department complete all tasks to satisfactory standard.
Responsibilities
Ensure all factory areas in the nominated department are kept clean, free of floor debris & water
Ensure rubbish bins are emptied, black bags are replenished, and full rubbish sacks are removed in a safe manor to designated waste collection area
Ensure condensation is removed from all ceiling areas using condensation squeegees avoiding risk to product
Run the basket washer (low risk) and / or wire wash / tray wash (high risk) and ensure the correct temperature / chemical concentration using titration kits
Clean machines and table as required using the methods stated in the appropriate Cleaning Instruction Card (CIC)
Ensure PPE, Soap and Sanitiser levels are maintained
Safe Use of Chemicals
Complete allergen inspection and swabs after an allergen clean
Ensure changing areas are kept clean including cleaning boots and removing used coats.
Complete any cleaning records as required
Report any damaged equipment or machinery to team leader.
Ensure cleaning equipment is kept clean and maintained in a good working order.
Follow all site personal hygiene rules and general site rules.
Essential Criteria and Qualifications
Food Safety level 2
Introduction to Cleaning & Chemical Safety (Kersia course)
Be able to clearly communicate
Good standard of written and spoken English, ability to communicate with managers and colleague
Follow direction/requests with the ability to read any written instructions clearly
Respect your colleagues and managers, adhere to site conduct and respect company property
Adhere to Food Safety rules, policies, and procedures
Adhere to Health and Safety rules, policies, and procedures on site
Report any near misses or hazards to your manager. Protect yourself and protect others…see it, say it, report it
Ability to work under pressure.
