Location: Slough
Pay: £92.63 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND unit within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
Working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities, you will provide tailored support on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping children access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress. You will play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year's experience working with children with SEND and will be confident supporting a variety of individual needs. A calm, patient and nurturing approach is essential, alongside strong behaviour management skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations throughout the school day. You will be expected to support pupils with their emotional regulation, engagement in learning and social development, while maintaining a consistent and reassuring presence.
This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of energy and attentiveness. Candidates should be comfortable providing personal care when required and be physically active, as supporting pupils across different activities and learning environments will involve spending much of the day on your feet. Strong observational skills and the ability to respond proactively to each child's needs are key to success in this position.
You will be joining a dedicated and supportive team that is committed to providing the highest standard of care and education for every child. This full-time, term-time position offers consistent working hours and the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference within a well-established and inclusive school community.
If you are an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a positive attitude, strong resilience and a genuine passion for helping children thrive, we would love to hear from you.
