PAY RATES: £28,000 – £35,000 per year
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Planner / Scheduler to join our food production client. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules to optimise efficiency, minimise downtime, and ensure timely delivery of products. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes, ERP systems, and continuous improvement methodologies to support operational excellence.
Duties - Including but not limited to
- Planning logistics.
- Raw materials inventory control - Support assembly line planning by coordinating material availability and equipment readiness.
- Packaging controls.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules using SAP and other ERP systems to meet customer demands and optimise resource utilisation.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality control teams to align schedules with inventory levels, supply chain constraints, and quality standards.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules proactively to address delays or unforeseen issues, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Analyse process workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including scheduling changes, downtime, and output metrics.
- Assist in implementing process improvements aimed at enhancing productivity, quality control, and safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a food environment.
- Strong familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is essential.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Mechanical knowledge or understanding of manufacturing processes is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve operational goals.
- Experience within a volatile environment.
