Light Vehicle Technician – Rotating Shifts
Pay: £18.03 per hour
Hours: 45 hours per week. Rotating shifts:
- Week 1: 06:00 – 15:30
- Week 2: 13:00 – 22:30
Contract: Permanent
Earning Potential (OTE)
- Hourly Rate: £18.03 per hour
- Basic Salary: £42,190 per year (based on 45-hour week)
- Overtime Rate: Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x)
- Realistic OTE: £45,000 – £50,000+ per year (including regular overtime and optional Saturday mornings)
Overview
We're looking for a skilled Light Vehicle Technician for a permanent role in a modern, well-equipped workshop. This position offers a rotating early/late shift pattern, a strong base salary, and the chance to significantly increase your earnings with regular overtime paid at 1.5x, plus optional Saturday work. Ongoing training and career progression are provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on light vehicles to a high standard
- Perform diagnostics and fault-finding using modern workshop equipment
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and in line with workshop procedures
- Maintain accurate job cards and documentation, and uphold excellent workshop organisation
What You'll Need
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (NVQ/City & Guilds) or equivalent proven experience
- Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Technician in a commercial workshop
- Strong diagnostic and technical repair skills
- A full UK driving licence
