As Staff Administrator you will work as part of a busy, friendly, team which supports all staff within two University departments. Working in our modern Campus East offices, you will be expected to operate independently but collaboratively as part of a wider team. You would be required to work on-campus for the majority of the working week in order to liaise with staff and visitors and to provide effective in-person support on a variety of administrative tasks. The Department offers some flexibility around working hours and operates on a flexi time basis; some hybrid working can be accommodated following a successful probation period.
Working to the Staff Administration Manager, within our shared services team, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties. You will support meetings and committees and will also be required to support the preparation and delivery of events.
The ability to communicate to a high standard both verbally and in writing with a variety of audiences including academic staff and visitors to the Department is essential. A further requirement will be for you to be welcoming and approachable, whilst able to maintain a professional and informed stance relating to policies and processes applied in the workplace. As this role includes a required on site presence and contributes to building management and mail room tasks, the willingness and ability to to undertake light physical tasks is also a requirement.
This opportunity is being offered as part-time at 29.6 hours per week and is expected to be worked over four full days, one of which must be Wednesday.
