Tortello is a vibrant, independently run Italian restaurant in the heart of Lancaster Gate, London. We are passionate about honest, ingredient-led cooking and delivering a dining experience that keeps guests coming back. Our kitchen team is the beating heart of everything we do, and we’re looking for a talented Chef de Partie to be part of it.
The Role
As Chef de Partie at Tortello, you will take ownership of your section, ensuring every dish that leaves your station is consistent, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. You will work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to deliver service to the highest standard, every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to established recipes and the standards set by the Head Chef
- Take full ownership of your section, maintaining consistency and quality throughout service
- Manage your mise en place and stock rotation to ensure your station is always ready
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety, allergen, and hygiene regulations at all times including completion of Alert65 records
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient service
- Monitor food presentation, ensuring every dish is plated and served correctly
- Support and mentor junior kitchen staff, sharing knowledge and culinary techniques
- Assist with inventory management, including checking deliveries and flagging stock requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef looking to step up, in a professional kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices
- Experience in Italian cuisine is an advantage but not essential
- A meticulous approach to recipe adherence and consistency
- Ability to work at pace and remain composed during a busy service
- A genuine team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
