A Staines Primary School is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 class. You will be working 1:1 with a student, supporting them in their learning, maintaining focus and managing challenging behaviour. The student has statements of ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Condition. Previous experience, either professional or personal, with either of these conditions is ideal. You will be working to the students Education Health Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring the pupil reaches their full potential in the classroom. You will be supported by your class teacher, as well as the school’s SENCO, who will be able to supply any further training or guidance needed.
While the position will initially be on a long-term, temporary contract, there is potential to join the school on a permanent basis, which can be discussed with the school during your placement. The school offers onsite parking for staff.
Requirements:
- Experience with ASC, ADHD, Challenging behaviour (desirable)
- Good literacy skills – GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent
- Good numeracy skills– GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent
