Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Chip Shop Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving food in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service. Duties
- Prepare and cook traditional fish and chips, as well as other menu items, maintaining quality standards
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter or via takeaway services
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
- Upsell additional menu items to maximise sales opportunities
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently, including food safety standards
- Assist with general cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards throughout the premises
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
- Good time management skills to ensure orders are prepared promptly
- Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is advantageous but not mandatory
- Willingness to learn new skills such as upselling techniques and food preparation methods
