About the role
A great opportunity to join a building services consultancy working across residential and mixed-use projects, where you'll take ownership of electrical design from concept through to construction. You'll work independently across RIBA Stages 2–4 as a core member of the electrical team, with real project variety and a clear path to chartership.
What you'll be doing
- Designing LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across residential projects at RIBA Stages 2–4
- Producing independently verified electrical calculations, load schedules, cable sizing and DB schedules using Amtech or Hevacomp
- Running full lighting designs in DIALux or Relux to SLL Code, including DALI control strategies and Part L compliance evidence
- Writing NBS electrical specifications and attending design team meetings independently
- Coordinating with architects, structural engineers and contractors, and reviewing contractor submissions
What we're looking for
- BEng (Hons) or MEng in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- UK building services electrical design consultancy experience
- LV distribution design competence — cable sizing, DB and switchboard schedules, fault level awareness
- Full lighting design capability in DIALux or Relux, and fire alarm and emergency lighting design to BS 5839-1 and BS 5266-1
- Revit MEP competent to LOD 300 — containment, panels, power circuits
- IEng registered or working towards it, with CEng actively pursued
Nice to have
- EV charging design experience — Type 2 EVSE, load management, BS 7671 Section 722, Part S
- PV solar array sizing and G98/G99 application process awareness
- DALI-2 control system specification experience
