Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Café Chef to join our team, working exclusively during daytime hours. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and culinary skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. The Cafe Chef will be responsible for delivering daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained.
Duties
- To work with the head chef and other members of the small team to comply with our standards and procedures.
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Manage food production processes, including portion control and presentation standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development to meet customer preferences and seasonal offerings
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure adequate supplies are available
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a culinary or hospitality environment
- Background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or café setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently during daytime hours only, maintaining high standards under pressure
