We are seeking a motivated and organised Legal Assistant to join our busy family law team within our Derby office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment and is committed to providing outstanding administrative and client support.
You will play a key role in supporting a fee earner with the day-to-day management of cases, to include tasks such as preparing and proofreading legal documents, drafting court forms, preparing bundles, managing diaries, booking appointments and updating files on the firms’ case management system.
You will be joining an exceptional team headed up by some of the leading lawyers in this specialist area of law and a firm that has clear values and principles, to enable its lawyers to achieve the best possible outcomes for their clients.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant preferably in family law.
- Providing support to solicitors.
- Liaising professionally with clients, barristers, courts and other professionals.
- Managing diaries and scheduling appointments
- Filing documents with the court and monitoring deadlines.
- Handling incoming telephone calls and email enquiries.
- Assisting with billing, file management and general office administration.
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Professional, empathetic and client-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The desire to help the team to grow and develop
- To build strong relationships with clients and your colleagues

Salary
This is a full-time permanent position to work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Salary based on experience.
