Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive psychology lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative teaching methods.
- Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and active participation.
- Support students through mentoring programmes, providing guidance on academic progress and personal development.
- Develop and assess coursework, assignments, and examinations to evaluate student understanding effectively.
- Integrate interdisciplinary skills such as journalism, creative writing, and proofreading into lesson plans to enhance learning experiences.
- Manage behaviour within the classroom through effective behaviour management strategies, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Offer tutoring sessions in psychology, mathematics, or related subjects to support individual student needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop organisational strategies that improve the overall quality of education delivery.
- Engage with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavioural concerns where appropriate.
Qualifications
- A recognised degree in Psychology or a related field; teaching qualification is preferred but not essential for experienced candidates.
- Proven experience in teaching or mentoring students at secondary or higher education levels.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Demonstrated organisational skills to manage lesson planning, assessments, and student records efficiently.
- Experience in special education or behaviour management strategies is advantageous.
- Skills in journalism, creative writing, proofreading, tutoring, and mathematics are considered beneficial additions to your profile.
