Sanctuary Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Dietitian specialising in Type 1 Diabetes to join a healthcare service based in Inverness. This is an excellent long-term locum opportunity for a skilled dietitian with specialist knowledge in diabetes management and modern diabetes technologies.
The successful candidate will work closely with individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes, providing expert dietary assessment, education and support to help patients effectively manage their condition and improve long-term health outcomes. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centred care across a specialist diabetes service.
This maternity cover contract runs until the end of February 2027 and offers the added benefit of affordable hospital accommodation.
Role Details:
- Band 6 Dietitian – Type 1 Diabetes
- Location: Inverness, Highlands
- Maternity leave cover until February 2027
- £37.64 per hour
- Cheap hospital accommodation available – approximately £400 per month
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist dietetic support for patients with Type 1 Diabetes
- Deliver education and guidance on carbohydrate counting, insulin adjustment and diabetes self-management
- Support patients using continuous glucose monitoring systems and insulin pump technologies
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary diabetes teams to develop personalised treatment plans
- Carry out nutritional assessments and deliver evidence-based dietary interventions
- Support patients with insulin regimens, insulin ratios and dose adjustment strategies
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives
- Promote patient independence and long-term condition management
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualified Dietitian with current Health and Care Professions Council registration
- Previous experience working within Type 1 Diabetes services
- Strong working knowledge of insulin regimens, insulin dose adjustment and carbohydrate counting
- Experience supporting patients using continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump technologies
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting
- Previous NHS experience is desirable
