The Role
CDS Logistics Ltd is looking for a professional and reliable driver to operate a 5.2-tonne Iveco vehicle transporter with trailer.
This is a full-time position on a zero-hours contract. Due to the nature of vehicle transport, there are no guaranteed weekly hours, and working hours will vary depending on customer demand.
Some days may be shorter, while others may involve early starts, late finishes, and long-distance travel. Flexibility is essential.
You will be responsible for collecting and delivering vehicles nationwide while maintaining high standards of customer service, vehicle inspections, and transport compliance.
Responsibilities
- Collect and deliver vehicles throughout the UK.
- Safely load, secure and transport vehicles using a 5.2t transporter and trailer.
- Complete detailed vehicle inspections, recording any damage and taking photographs.
- Complete electronic PODs and transport paperwork.
- Carry out professional vehicle handovers and obtain customer signatures.
- Perform daily vehicle and trailer safety checks.
- Report defects promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean, tidy and roadworthy.
- Comply with all tachograph and drivers' hours regulations.
- Represent CDS Logistics professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence with C1+E (107 Restriction) entitlement or above.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Age 25+ (insurance requirements).
- Maximum 3 licence points.
- No recent driving bans.
- Good understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations.
- Confident using smartphones and apps for vehicle inspections and paperwork.
- Professional, punctual and customer-focused attitude.
Desirable Experience
- Previous vehicle transport experience.
- Experience towing trailers.
- Vehicle recovery experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
