We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and skilled Bartender to join our team and help create exceptional guest experiences through outstanding drinks, service, and hospitality.
Position Overview
As a Bartender at Rio, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality beverage experience while providing warm and attentive service to our guests. You will prepare and serve drinks efficiently, maintain a well-organised bar, and contribute to the vibrant atmosphere that makes Rio a memorable destination.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
- Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service at all times.
- Take beverage orders accurately and prepare drinks to company standards.
- Engage with guests confidently, making recommendations and creating a positive bar experience.
- Ensure all drinks are served promptly and presented to a high standard.
Bar Operations & Beverage Knowledge
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, and soft drinks.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Rio's beverage menu and confidently recommend pairings with menu items.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.
- Assist with stock rotation and minimise waste through effective stock control practices.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Front of House, Gaucho Chefs, and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service.
- Support colleagues during busy service periods by assisting with drink running and guest requests.
- Communicate effectively with team members and managers to maintain service standards.
Cleanliness & Compliance
- Keep the bar area clean, organised, and fully stocked throughout service.
- Follow all hygiene, sanitation, licensing, and health & safety procedures.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain proper handling and storage of glassware, garnishes, and bar equipment.
Upselling & Efficiency
- Promote premium beverages, cocktails, wines, and after-dinner drinks to enhance guest satisfaction and sales.
- Process orders accurately through the POS system and handle payments professionally.
- Help achieve beverage sales targets while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Enthusiastic, outgoing personality with excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
