Support Worker
Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential assistance and guidance to individuals in our community. This role involves working closely with children and vulnerable adults, offering mentoring, educational support, and fostering a positive environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to making a meaningful difference in people's lives through patience, empathy, and active engagement.
Duties
- Offer personalised mentoring to children and young people, supporting their emotional and social development
- Assist with daily activities, ensuring safety and well-being at all times
- Support educational activities by helping with homework and teaching new skills
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages confidence and independence
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to develop tailored support plans
- Organise engaging activities that promote learning and social interaction
- Maintain accurate records of progress and any concerns raised during sessions
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with organisational policies
Requirements
- Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others' development
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends if required
- Relevant qualifications or background in teaching or social care are advantageous but not mandatory
- Must be able to undertake basic safeguarding training prior to commencing employment
