Job Description:
Don & Low are seeking an ambitious and motivated Production Planner to join our team at our site in Forfar. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a technical background who is eager to develop their career within manufacturing and has the potential to progress into a wider production and manufacturing management role in the future.
Key responsibilities as a Production Planner:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure customer requirements are met
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to optimise production efficiency and resource utilisation
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans as required to meet changing demands
- Maintain accurate planning data within ERP systems
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of products
- Analyse production data and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation
Key Skills & Competencies for Production Planner
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Manufacturing background or experience within a production environment
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience using ERP systems
- Strong problem-solving capability
- Good numeracy skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Analytical approach to tasks and decision-making
- Adaptable and flexible in response to changing priorities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
