Are you practical, hands-on, and looking for a long-term career in engineering?
We’re recruiting for a Workshop Trainee – Vehicle Fabrication & Repair to join a busy and well-established workshop in Willand. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools, learning new skills, and building a career in a specialist engineering environment.
You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and fabricators, learning the skills needed to repair, modify and build commercial vehicles, coaches and buses. If you’ve got a good attitude, some hands-on experience, and you’re keen to learn, full training and development will be provided.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with the repair, fabrication and modification of commercial vehicles, coaches and buses
- Learning to carry out metalwork, fabrication, cutting, grinding and vehicle repairs
- Supporting fabrication work, with training provided
- Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
- Assisting with fitting vehicle components such as panels, frames, seating and windows
- Supporting basic mechanical and repair work under supervision
- Working from job sheets, technical drawings and build specifications
- Helping maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who is practical and enjoys hands-on work
- Experience using hand tools in a workshop, engineering, construction, manufacturing or similar environment
- An interest in fabrication, welding, mechanical work or vehicle repair
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable, hard-working and able to work well as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and pride in doing a job properly
