About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our Goods-In Department on a full-time, three-month fixed-term contract. There may be an opportunity for the contract to be extended, depending on business requirements and individual performance; however, an extension cannot be guaranteed.
The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient receipt, storage, movement and control of stock and materials across our site. The role involves working in several Goods-In areas, including our cold store, chill and warehouse facilities, as well as helping to maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Unload vehicles, check the quality and condition of goods, and store them correctly.
· Move and deliver goods to production areas using forklift trucks and pallet trucks.
· Manually pick, move and lift stock as required.
· Operate the waste compactor safely.
· Complete daily safety checks for forklifts and pallet trucks.
· Follow the company’s stock traceability procedures and the First In, First Out (FIFO) system.
· Keep traceability boards and stock records accurate and up to date.
· Maintain stock deduction records when goods are released.
· Ensure allergens are stored correctly and prevent cross-contamination.
· Pick and move chemical drums for cleaning operations in accordance with COSHH requirements and company procedures.
· Assist with monthly stocktakes as required.
· Maintain clean, tidy and organised warehouse and yard areas under the company’s clean-as-you-go policy.
· Grit and clear snow from the yard using appropriate equipment when required.
· Move machinery and equipment to and from factory areas when authorised.
· Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the Goods-In operation.

· Articulated electric forklift trucks.
· Counterbalance forklift trucks.
· Electric reach trucks.
· Hand pallet trucks.
· Electric pallet trucks.
Appropriate training and authorisation will be provided where required.

Previous warehouse experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided. A current counterbalance forklift licence would also be advantageous.
