Role Title: Lecturer in Skills for Adults / Community Learning
Location: Wrexham and Flintshire, across several campus and Community provision
Contract Type: Permanent, Part time (80% FTE, 29.6 hours per week)
Salary: £33,596 - £51,932 (this is the full time salary, salary will be pro rata depending on working pattern) Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine
We currently have a vacancy for a lecturer in Essential Skills, including Literacy, Numeracy and Digital for Adult Community Learning across Wrexham / Flintshire. As a Lecturer you will perform scheduled teaching, preparation of learning materials, marking of students’ work, and liaise with awarding bodies and exam invigilation.
The successful candidate will be required to complete and produce the agreed deadlines documentation such as, registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation, student reports and absence reports.
As a lecturer you will excel in providing educational guidance and support for our students, as well as ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
You will also have a strong commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and learning.
Essential Requirements
A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification
Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification
Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments
Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment
Experience of teaching and supporting young people with extensive barriers to learning
Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
