As a Nursery Assistant, you'll work alongside our Lead Practitioner and wider team to support children's day-to-day care, play, and development in a safe, stimulating environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and wants to grow within a small, supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children's individual needs, helping with feeding, nappy changing/toileting, and general care
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children's learning and development
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, and carers
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at all times
- Observe and record children's progress in line with the EYFS framework
- Work collaboratively with the wider nursery team
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is essential
- A relevant childcare qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3, CACHE) is preferred but not essential — we welcome applicants with strong hands-on experience
- A genuine passion for working with young children
- Patient, caring, and reliable nature
- Good communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
