FOOD PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Working under the direction of the production manager to support and assist in the production of our range of smoked foods and the cleaning and maintenance of the production area and associated machinery.
Given that we are a small family company, this is a “Hands On,” role. However, you will develop an understanding of and contribute to all aspects of the business as well as the prime food production role.
We provide in house food safety training progressing to Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
We are a very seasonal business producing 30% of our turnover in December. Our busy months in the run up to Christmas demand teamwork with long hours and stamina, as well as a good sense of humour!
Responsibilities & Duties
· Production of our range of smoked foods – curing, smoking, slicing packing
· Maintaining a clean working environment
· Maintaining good practice in accordance with our HACCP Food Safety & Quality Manual
· Daily Record-Keeping – maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
· Warehouse goods in and goods out; packing orders for despatch
· Shop duties as required

Full Time Position
Salary:
· National Minimum Wage
· Bonus payable in December
Holiday: 21 days
· To include Christmas / New Year shut down period - Plus bank holidays
Pay: £24,420.00-£26,000.00 per year
