We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and highly skilled Principal Clinical Psychologist to join Stockport’s innovative Wellbeing Hub. The Hub brings together two specialist services: the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team, which supports children aged 0–18 who are at child protection level or cared for by Stockport Family, and the Staying Close Wellbeing Service, which promotes the emotional wellbeing and mental health of care‑experienced young people aged 16–25 who have lived in residential care. Together, these services provide a psychologically informed, relationally attuned offer for some of Stockport’s most vulnerable children and young people.
The Principal Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical leadership across the Wellbeing Hub. The postholder will offer supervision to the Therapeutic Social Workers and Clinical Psychologist within the team, and will lead on embedding trauma‑informed and trauma-responsive practice across the service. They will provide consultations, formulations and reflective practice to support colleagues in understanding and responding to the emotional needs of care experienced young people, helping to strengthen the psychological thinking that underpins care planning and multi‑agency decision making.
